Gavin MacEchern

Chairman

Gavin MacEchern is Heracles’ chairman. He joined the partnership in 2008 from Mansford Real Estate LLP, a European multi-strategy real estate private investment firm where he was chairman and founding partner. Since its inception, Mansford has managed circa £1.7 billion of direct and indirect investments. During Gavin’s tenure, the company realised 37 UK investments which generated a gross leveraged internal rate of return of 37 per cent and returned a multiple in excess of three times invested equity.

Prior to founding Mansford in 1995, Gavin was a founder shareholder and director of Arlington Securities Plc, a UK property company which was floated on the London Stock Exchange in 1986. In 1989 it was sold to British Aerospace for £278 million.

Gavin started his career as a solicitor in the City of London.
