Partner, Head of Investment Committee

James Dean sits on the board of Heracles and takes an active role as the head of the investment committee.

James is a chartered surveyor and remains a consultant to a number of subsidiaries of Savills plc, a company he joined in 1973. He became an equity partner in 1983 and a director of the new listed company on flotation in 1988. Shortly after this date, he became head of the commercial investment department prior to going part-time in 1999.

Non-executive directorships that James holds include Daniel Thwaites plc and Branston Holdings Ltd. He is the chairman of the internal trustees of the Diageo Pension Trust, a fully discretionary client of Cordea Savills and runs his own family property company, as well as being a trustee for a number of family trusts which have extensive commercial and agricultural property holdings.
